Part one of a masterclass series developed by Sarah Marie Curry. This class will use the rich history of American musical theater as a springboard for developing musical improv that is wholly inspired. Gilbert & Sullivan can teach us how to do fast-paced characters with style. Rogers & Hammerstein illuminate the emotional passion within any lyric or song. Students will leave with a much more confident understanding of theatrical stagecraft and history and increase their skills and range in musical improv.

Must have basic musical improv training/experience (taken levels or done a musical improv production) with intermediate improv training or intermediate improv training with musical THEATER experience (musical theater production or vocal training).

(8 meetings. Class size limit = 12)
