Watch the improv all-stars of Austin, The Known Wizards, headline this improv comedy showcase with spontaneous scenes, hilarious games, surprisingly good songs, and fantastic stories all made up on the spot based on audience input. You say it, we play it–like magic!
Join us LIVE on October 16, 7:30 pm at Creative Action, 1023 Springdale Rd, for a socially-distanced and masked, live show! We’ve got a huge line-up of comedy!

From 6-7 PM:
- Free, Fully Masked, Open Improv Jam. Paul Normandin, resident Dean, will lead the Jam and everyone in attendance is required to play. Warm Ups, Fun Games, and Scene Work will all be created from our imaginations.
- Spots are limited to 30 people. Free ticket “purchase” required to attend.
At 7:30 PM, the main event:
- Super Secret Guest Troupe – Some improv all-stars perform together for the first time since everything shut down!
- Merlin Works Alumni & Students — Some of our current and past students will perform improv games based on audience suggestions!
- The Known Wizards — Merlin Works faculty troupe, round out the evening with spontaneous scenes, hilarious games, surprisingly good songs, and fantastic stories all made up on the spot. You say it, they play it—like magic!
From 10-11:30 PM:
- Please join Merlin Works in hosting “Austin No Shame!” — an Open Mic without the mic that allows performers to use the whole stage or just a part of it to perform a maximum of 5 minutes of anything. No Shames of old have witnessed magicians, sketches, readings, stand-ups, storytellers, dancers, performance artists, and musicians.
- Austin No Shame has two simple rules:
- 1) No hurting the Stage and
- 2) No hurting anyone in the audience.
- Come join Austin’s best incubator of creativity: No Shame.
