Saturday Improv Comedy Showcase with Schizo, Garage & The Known Wizards!

After a few stops and starts (Thaaaaanks, Omicron), we’re BACK with our first improv comedy showcase of the year!

Join us at Creative Action for a full night of comedy and then some!

From 6:30-7:30 PM: Free Improv Jam

Join us for a pre-show warm-up where we’ll play quick and fun improv games.

Participants are required to wear masks.

At 8:00 PM, the main event:

  • Schizo — Let Tina Jackson (San Antonio) and Chuy Zárate (Austin) introduce you to a room full of characters. This is the family reunion, workplace picnic, or funeral that you have always avoided come to life in front of your eyes. 2 Performers. 1 Stage. Too. Many. Characters.
  • Garage — Improv inspired by an audience-suggested song.
  • The Known Wizards — Merlin Works faculty troupe, round out the evening with spontaneous scenes, hilarious games, surprisingly good songs, and fantastic stories all made up on the spot. You say it, they play it—like magic!
  • Seats are limited to 45 people.
  • Audience required to be masked.

From 10-11:30 PM: Austin No Shame!

An Open Mic without the mic that allows performers to use the whole stage or just a part of it to perform a maximum of 5 minutes of anything. No Shames of old have witnessed magicians, sketches, readings, stand-ups, storytellers, dancers, performance artists, and musicians.
Austin No Shame has two simple rules:
1) No hurting the Stage and
2) No hurting anyone in the audience.
Seats are limited to 45 people.
Audience required to be masked.

At Creative Action you can enjoy:

  • Free Parking
  • Limited capacity (45 seats), reserved seating
  • Nearby bars and restaurants for after-show fun

So come on down. It’s highly recommended to reserve your seats for the awesomeness that is the Merlin Works Improv Comedy Showcase.
