Special guest Small Town Papers give you the latest scoop at the Second Sunday Improv Comedy Showcase!

Ah, August: The spectre of fall is in the air, but only because the kids are about to head back to school. It’s also around the time that I mourn the seasonal closing of my neighborhood pool. IT’S STILL SO HOT! Why????? Good thing there’s the Merlin Works Improv at the ZACH Second Sunday Comedy Showcase to break me out of my late summer funk!

At 8:00 PM, the main event:

  • Small Town Papers – Improvisers use weirder headlines from small town papers to inspire a wacky cast of characters. Along for the ride is their trusty Amazon Echo… just in case Alexa wants to chime in.
  • Dippin’ Dots & Tang Bang — Some of our best singing improv students will perform a Broadway-style musical based on audience suggestions!
  • Merlin Works faculty troupe The Known Wizards rounds out the evening with spontaneous scenes, hilarious games, surprisingly good songs, and fantastic stories all made up on the spot. You say it, they play it—like magic!
