Improv 101: The Spirit of Play
Learn the fundamentals of improvisation. The class’s interactive exercises build listening and communication skills, heighten awareness, and teach you how to be more playful, spontaneous and flexible. Dive into Yes And, Storytelling, and Performance Games. All while playing and laughing with your new improv buddies. (8 meetings. Class size limit = 16)

Improv 201: Improv Toolbelt
Learn scene work fundamentals such as sharing the stage, characters, body language, scene starts, mime work, comedy, listening, acting, and stage skills. Fill up your Improv Toolbelt, so you are ready to perform anytime, anywhere. We explore fuller scenes and comedy show games while having fun and celebrating risk-taking.

Improv 301: Improv Comedy for Performance
Prerequisite: Must have taken Improv 101-201 or equivalent at another Improv school. Learn about different kinds of short-form improv comedy games using verbal restrictions, emotional changes, jump and justify, physicality, audience interaction, monologues, and film and TV styles. By the end of the workshop, you will be ready for your Improv 301 Graduation Show: a public performance in front of a paying audience.

Improv 401: Intro to Narrative Improv
Prerequisite: At least three class levels of improv experience are required. Turn your short-form skills into long-form wizardry! Improv 501: Stitching Scenes Into Stories
Inspired by the mythic hero’s journey, we begin to put together scenes to create longer, more complicated stories focused around a central character. Each week we learn different techniques for initiating the next scene in the story such as establishing secondary characters, edits and wipes, exploring environment, emotional journeys, pursuing objectives and shaping the show. Improv 601: Perform a Narrative Longform Show
This workshop we will prepare the ensemble for a long-form narrative show in our Improv Comedy Showcase. We will explore format, genre, and styles–combining strong scene work and narrative structure to create unscripted plays with multiple storylines and arcs. This workshop will come full circle as we take time to return to the roots of improvisation to inspire spontaneous ensemble play. (Improv 601 Special: 8 classes and 1 show. Class Size Limit = 12)
