Merlin Works Diversity Scholarship

Merlin Works is training the improvisers of tomorrow We want the voices on our stages to reflect the voices in our audiences and community. And we believe that diversity happens when one is intentional about it. In this spirit, we offer the Merlin Works Diversity Scholarship to foster diversity both onstage and off. Two scholarships are awarded each session and may be applied to any of our Improv programs. This half tuition scholarship is good from the first level of the chosen program through to its completion, contingent on satisfactory attendance and success in class. The Merlin Works Diversity Scholarship primarily aims to further open the world of Austin Improv to people of color, though individuals who identify with any minority background, culture, or community are welcome to apply. Scholarships, discounts and internships are available through Merlin Works to ensure the art of comedy is accessible to all.

Scholarship Application 

You may apply for an Outreach Scholarship in our Comedy School by filling out this form, along with any other required materials.

Please note the following eligibility requirements must be met in order to proceed with the application process.

• You must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
• Demonstrate a financial need by providing two of the following: a current pay stub, W­2 documentation, and/or a personal letter expressing indigent need or financial hardship, or a recommendation letter from a teacher, director or comedy/acting professional.
• You must be in good physical and mental health.
• Only complete applications will be considered.

Application awards are based on availability and need.
