Merlin-Works Showtime

Merlin-Works had a private improv show last night for the Regents School of Austin. It was a short-form show starring myself, Shannon McCormick, and Ben Sterling. The youth really enjoyed it, especially the audience participation games. The highlight of the night was probably the Superhero/Sidekick scene. An audience member was “The Ant” and Ben was his sidekick, “Aphid.” They spent some time at the Ant Cave working on the Ant car and drinking Ant juice, then they had to rush to city hall to save the commissioner from “The Picnic-er,” who was throwing sweet treats at “The Ant,” his greatest weakness. The audience volunteer was a great sport and really enjoyed flexing his muscles on stage, literally. Luckily, The Ant prevailed, saved the commissioner, and won the key to the city.

I think the show really worked as a celebration of their group because they not only got to come out together and laugh, they got to see each other perform and cheer each other on. A good time was had by all.
