FAQ: If I’m a student, when do I get to be onstage and perform improv?

There are lots of opportunities for you to get on stage at the Merlin Works Institute for Improvisation. Students that are enrolled in Improv Classes at Merlin Works are invited to perform in The Derby, our competitive short form improv comedy show. At the end of the Shortform Class Series (Improv 101 – 301), students will perform in a graduation show that is open to the public. At the end of the Narrative Longform Class Series (Improv 401-601), students will perform a run of shows opening for more experienced troupes. Everyone is eligible to attend the Improv Mixer, where students, improvisers, and coaches will come together to network, audition for new troupes, and join existing troupes.
